Starting back in the mid 1970's during the first energy "crisis", geothermal heating/cooling was still in it's infancy. Porter & Heckman worked hard to reach as many people as possible and teach them the advantages of geothermal.

After the end of the "crisis" and with the loss of the tax incentives and rebates, most contractors chose to go back to what they were good at, mainly fuel fired heating systems. Porter & Heckman stuck with what they believed in, and that is to offer high efficiency WaterFurnace geothermal heating, cooling, and hot water systems.

Yes we do sell and install fossil fuel fired furnaces and boilers, conventional water heaters, along with Amana high efficiency air-to-air heat pumps. This is because we realize that geothermal heat pumps are not for everybody, and we are in business to serve our customers with our expert knowledge in this business, and to help them make the right decisions on the most economical, comfortable, and reliable system, that they can afford.

So here in Michigan today, and with over 1,000 installed & serviced geothermal heat pumps, we continue to grow with the geothermal heat pump market during this new and very serious "energy crisis.
